Reentry Program
"When Does One's Wrong End and Their Right Begin?"
The National Alliance for the Empowerment of the Formerly Incarcerated (NAEFI) is a community-based organization serving the formerly incarcerated and convicted people living in the State of Illinois. The program involves partnering male and female formerly incarcerated participants with a trained Reentry Coach, educators, facilitators of reentry circles, through counseling, life skills workshops, leadership development, recidivism prevention training and peer support.
The participants will be guided in their pursuit to transform their lives back into responsible American Citizens. Individuals who volunteer to participate in our program will be supported in their efforts to seek and achieve employment, entrepreneurship, higher educational and personal goals.
Reentry Coach Mission
Through a Reentry Coach, legal support, restorative justice, recidivism training, the National Alliance for the Empowerment of the Formerly Incarcerated (NAEFI) is committed to advocate, and provide positive alternatives for the formerly incarcerated and convicted person.

Program Objectives

The Participant will recognize patterns of behavior that result in recidivism.

Improve their social interactions at home, the work place and community.

Learn to cope with difficult situations without resorting to crime, substance abuse, violence or sabotaging positive relationships.

Learn appropriate verbal/nonverbal communicator skills to access employment and/or educational agencies.

Develop support networks with other formerly incarcerated persons who have successfully embarked upon our new way of life.
